The SKN was founded in 2012 by Shihan Cor Mol of Dojo Kyokushin Delft. He founded this non-profit umpiring body to deploy an independent group of umpires to both national and international Kyokushin and Full Contact Karate tournaments.

Shihan Mol trained with Shihan Harry Couzijn (Kokoro Dojo), the Gordeau Brothers (Kamakura Dojo) and Shihan Ruud Muller (Muller Dojo).

In name of the SKN he gave Referee courses in The Netherlands, Italia, Belgium and Hungary.
